A Very Noticeable Noticeboard
Have you noticed that even when you write yourself a note, however well or clearly you write it, you can end up forgetting it anyway? You might wonder whether you're just not writing it down right, or if you're losing your mind. While both these could well be true, we know it's not what you write, but where you write it.
So, where is the best place to leave a note for yourself so you don’t forget to buy milk, put the bins out, or pick your dog up from the puppy salon?
Right next to your front door would be a good start.
Imagine this: you’re about to leave the house, you reach over to switch off the lights, and there is your reminder, quite literally at your fingertips.
Placement is everything where reminders are concerned, and earlier this year an innovative young man took to Kickstarter to fund what we think is a great product idea – a dry-erase light switch.
Sixteen year old Nick Bain put his four year project on Kickstarter in the hopes of raising $750 to fund his product. He came away with an impressive $1,767, and Switch Port is now available to buy online.
We must admit, it’s a pretty clever idea. Switch Port is just like a regular light switch, but its surface is enamelled in an epoxy which doesn’t absorb ink, so you can write on it just like a whiteboard. It has plenty of room on it to write notes to yourself or someone else, and you surely won’t miss anything when it’s written in a place where you look every day.
We love this idea – it’s fun and quirky, and if you have nothing to write down, you can have fun doodling on it, too!
